Parking Tickets On Credit Now

Friday 16th May 2008

While literally thousands of motorists will have received a parking ticket while nipping into the nearest shop for change, that all seems set to change with new parking meters being installed in the Bethnal Green area of London. These new machines will allow you to pay for your parking ticket by credit card and reduce the problems which many people have when looking for the correct change.

Of the 60 machines to be installed in the area over half will be along the Bethnal Green Road with others dotted around Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Tower Hill, Wapping, Bow and Poplar. While the news has been welcomed by many drivers, some people have highlighted the potential for credit card fraud with many people possibly being in too much of a rush to check for card readers on the various meters.

Despite many attempts to try and stamp out credit card fraud the fraudsters seem to find ever more ingenious ways of collecting data. After the data has been collected it is very simple to produce a copied card and spend, spend, spend. Some are suggesting that in our pursuit of fast action payment systems we may well be putting credit card security at risk?
